The pursuit

An interview with Geoff Han. This is what you’re doing if you’re here for the craft. You are typesetting and ragging an entire book. You are outlining things in InDesign to copy them into Illustrator to warp them. You are pursuing a way to do thermography double-sided on large-scale sheets. You are “masking out a spot color of a photograph, printing the inverse area of the spot color in white ink on colored paper, and then printing the remaining CMYK values on top”; then flying out to a factory in Shenzhen that specializes in UV printing on foiled cigarette boxes to oversee production—so that the reflective surfaces in color photographs are truly reflective in the book.
